Yep, now is the time I’m in the mood to write an article for my little blog here.
The situation is: I actually don’t know how i should handle my little blog here. I think in the future more english-speaking people will read this, but on the other side my motherlanguage is german and lots of friends maybe read this are germans too. I don’t like the idea to write in both languages. It’s the double work for me and not everybody probably will read this in his/her own language. I test my blog in completly english maybe i will do german stuff later… (im not completly happy with that but it’s a good beginning)
Now to the nerdy stuff.
I created a very (very) little game. It’s a Shoot’em Up called “c0mplex”.
Why the name c0mplex? Oh, it’s a funny story. I’m new in the programmer-scene, but I want to do it in my future. I want to become a Game-Designer or Game-Developer(dont know which i like more). So, my ide was to create a little 2D side-scrolling RPG…..it was a huge mistake. I programmed for a whole evening and in the end i realized the project is a lot bigger than i first thought. There were so many things i not considered. The end of the story: I deleted the project and thought of a new idea. The next idea was a 2D top-of-view game with zombies and weapons and many effects and cool sounds and blood and….yep that idea was a mistake too. I started programming and realized there are so many graphic things i have to create. In the end i created a player and a placeholder enemy. It was unpossible for me to do such a big project so i thought how i could do an even smaller game. I liked the idea from my zombie-game so I took the gameplay, took the placeholder enemy and created c0mplex. Do you now know why it’s called c0mplex? No? Because it’s so simple. I tried to create games I could never finish and now my game is so simple.
I’m not done with c0mplex yet. I want to implent many features such a save-system, an ingame-shop, boss-enemy and so on.
Here are some screens: (Yes the menu is in german)
